Fleeces Introduction

Note on Color:

Most of our sheep are variegated – so the fleeces aren’t always all one color. For example, Herschey and Sooner :

Here are some basic color comparisons. The tan-looking parts are the wool tips that bleached in the sun.

CVM - very fine, soft fleece

light gray (Antoine), gray (Sooner), black (Fajita)

Border Leicester:

Lustous long curly fleece – much coarser than CVM but has a soft handle.

Dark (Feisty), Dark Gray (Beye), Light Silver (Lassy), White (Ruth or Rachel)
